The 150th anniversary of the Civil War, which was from 1861-1865, will be celebrated in different ways all across the nation for the next few years. Jesup will observe the anniversary with this theme for its annual Farmers Day celebration.
Farmers Day is scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 12, 13 and 14. The event includes over 100 hours of free entertainment on the Farmers Day Pavilion Stage, along with carnival rides, delicious food, vendors, games and contests and two parades.
Mark the calendar now, tell family and friends who want to celebrate with us, and start thinking about this year’s Farmers Day Parade entries!
“Rockin' the Town” is the theme for this year’s celebration in Jesup.
This year, there will be three days with lots of free entertainment on the stage in the Land O'Corn Park. From classic favorites to country music, from local talent to the Midwest’s finest, from rock bands to tractor pulls — there is something for everyone at this celebration.
Entertainment & fun
Events include a carnival midway that compares to many county fair midways, with special Wrist Band rates of just $12 to ride all night on Thursday, and $12 to ride all afternoon on Friday. Don't miss Kathy Lee Ogden on Friday afternoon, July 8, from 4:30-6:30 PM, or A.C.E. performing from 11:30 AM-2:30 PM on Saturday after the parade. And, on Saturday, July 9, at 9 PM, a band with Cedar Valley roots, Milk & Honey, will take the stage.
